Revival of a Traunstein classic: Mostwirt reopens its doors
After a five-year break and months of hard work former restaurant and pub „Mostwirt“ finally reopens its doors in Traunstein’s lower town as “MostHendlWirt” with a focus on chicken specialities.
Inkeeper Raju Rana’s cuisine is modern, young and Bavarian with a blend of influences from his native country Nepal. Mr Rana has been working as chef de cuisine in various renown restaurants throughout Austria. His menu focuses on fresh, regional chicken dishes ranging from original fried chicken to creative burgers and more. In addition, there are Asian stir-fry variations, curries and healthy salads. Beer specialities from local Hofbräuhaus Traunstein complete the tasty options at MostHendlwirt. For those who prefer cider, Mr Rana offers premium ciders produced at Deisinger Hof in Upper Austria, the family home of Birgit Sailer from Hofbräuhaus Traunstein. The ciders are also used as marinade for some of the dishes.
Our interior designer, Mrs Gerlinde Schumacher from VILLA zeitlos GmbH, left no stone unturned to spice up the restaurant’s interior and turn the traditional Mostwirt into a cosy getaway in the heart of Traunstein. The restaurant’s chicken theme is reflected through the various items of decoration while keeping a focus on the Mostwirt’s historical charms.
“From the very beginning we knew that the MostHendlWirt was to remain a true and classic Bavarian restaurant”, explains Maximilian Sailer, Brew at Hofbräuhaus Traunstein. “We put a lot of effort into renovating the beloved place and we’re happy to see it flourishing.”
The opening times are unique to Traunstein’s restaurant scene: MostHendlwirt offers hot food every day from 11 am – 11 pm. All dishes are available for take-away!
